How and when did the two of you meet?
Todd and I first met in 2017 at a work event. Todd’s work hired a venue from mine and it was a chance meeting at a walk through of the venue that we first spoke.
Tell us all about your proposal story:
I picked out my own engagement ring, being told that I would have to wait for Todd to give it to me. Instead he asked my parents permission the next day and proposed that night. It was simple and beautiful, he got down on one knee in our family home as I held our son and poured his heart out.
What does marriage mean to you?
Marriage means that we will support each other in all aspects of our lives, that we are a team and united as a family. Marriage is making a commitment to each other that we will put our love for each other first and always be by each other’s side.
Why did you choose Hideaway Weddings?
We fell in love with the venue on our first walk through, the fairy light wrapped trees really sold us! We really wanted to make sure that in years to come we can look back at our wedding photos and have something beautiful and unique. It was perfect, even if the venue was 7 hours away!
Describe your theme for the day and the inspiration behind it:
Our original theme for the day was simple and slightly rustic, with lots of greenery. This is something we have both always liked and it was an easy pick. We wanted people to have fun and celebrate. Our second theme was, get it done no matter what!
What were the highlights of your day for you? (Alice)
My highlight was seeing the beautiful reaction Todd had when I walked down the aisle. Also, the food! I loved that we were packed a grazing box to take with us while having our photos, it was a beautiful touch.
What were the highlights of your day for you? (Todd)
The highlight of the day was watching my bride walk through the doors of the function room and come down the aisle.
Any tips or words of wisdom to offer other couples?
Relax as much as possible, the staff are so capable and think of everything. I would also recommend sneaking away from the party after all the formalities. Todd and I sat on the garden swing together admiring the garden and it was such a special moment!
