How did the two of you meet?
We met on tinder in 2015. We chatted for a few weeks then met one night at Sixes and Sevens in the Valley. We hit it off and had our first date at a Thai restaurant in West End.
Liam asked if I wanted to go for a picnic in a park that we always use to go to. We went for our picnic and that is where he proposed. He had then organised a surprise celebration at our house with our closest family and friends, which we came home to. My favourite part is that he took both mums ring shopping.
What does marriage mean to you?
Marriage to us means a partnership; having someone to love and share everything in life with. A best friend, someone that makes you laugh, and cries with you.
Why did you choose The Hideaway?
The Hideaway was the first and only venue that we viewed. We had seen a few on the internet but The Hideaway kept drawing us in. We went to view the venue and just loved the relaxed feel and variety of options as well as the genuine feel we got from the staff.
Describe your theme for the day
The theme for the day was a bit boho, an eclectic mix of pieces. We wanted the wedding to feel warm and full of love. We had lots of fresh flowers for the reception, and put them together ourselves because we wanted to save money but also have a big impact. Lucky for us, Hannah’s mum is naturally talented in decorating and creating beautiful things.
Hannah’s highlight of the day
I loved the relaxed, happy and genuine feel for the day. I would do it all again. The staff were very attentive and made sure we all had what we needed. I was worried that not being able to have a dance floor would impact our day, but the great people that we shared our day with made it just as fun, and The Hideaway ensured guests were kept entertained.
Liam’s highlight of the day
Walking back down the aisle with Hannah, our personalised vows, our dance, walking in as Mr and Mrs – really the whole day.
Tips or words of wisdom for future brides/grooms-to-be
Just let the day flow. If something isn’t exactly as you expected, just let it go. Breathe and enjoy every moment.
