How and when did the two of you meet?
Jarrad & I met in 2010 whilst camping at Calliope River in Queensland. Jarrad was kayaking along the river, and I [Karley] swam out to say hello. When I realised he was pretty damn cute, I tipped him out of the kayak and stole it, making him swim back to shore.
Proposal Story
We had a family trip planned to New Zealand and Jarrad thought this was the perfect opportunity.
Jarrad had decided he would propose to me on a boat ride through the breathtaking Millford Sound Waterfalls, but I was terribly motion sick, making it impossible for Jarrad to propose. He needed to think of plan B. So, he thought he would propose in the glow worm cave…but then it was too dark and rocky. It was time for plan C.
We took a boat ride with my [Karley’s] family and Jarrad wanted to propose on the punting along the river, but my Grandma kept awkwardly saying it would be the perfect time to propose to me – Jarrad knew he needed to get me away on my own! So finally, plan D; they went for a walk together through the botanical gardens where they were on land and on their own, and the perfect time finally arrived! Karley sat down in a gorgeous field and Jarrad asked her to stand up, and when she did he pulled out a gorgeous zip tie ring…Karley cried with happiness, and maybe with a few tears – it finally happened!
