Proposal Story

It was Christmas Eve a couple years ago, drinks were flowing and Craig got on one knee in front of his family and proposed. As he had already firmly stated he will never marry again, I thought he was joking…until boxing day he went shopping for a ring!

Describe your theme for the day

The theme was simple and rustic. We prefer to keep things simple in all areas of our lives. We believe the simple things are the most beautiful.

Why did you choose The Hideaway?

For us it came down to cost and convenience. We were originally going to hire a marquee, bring in catering and have it in our back yard to save money, but we soon realised it would cost about the same as Hideaway Weddings once we added it all up. Marquee, flooring, catering, drinks, staff and decorating would have been time consuming. We would have to clean up afterwards if in our own yard. With Hideaway Weddings it was all taken care of and rolled into one reasonable cost!

Did you incorporate any traditions or perhaps do something a little different?

We are not the traditional family, so for us there were no specific traditions that we incorporated, we were just happy to share our special day with family and friends!

Tips or words of wisdom for future brides/grooms-to-be

Be organised and have all tasks done a couple of days prior, if you can. Spend the day before relaxing. The day of the wedding goes so fast and a lot is happening with getting ready and having photos taken, so enjoy the down time.
