Proposal Story

Trent proposed at the top of Mt Ngungun.
I whinged the whole way up because I was tired, but once we got to the top it was definitely worth the walk up and I’m glad he got me out of bed to do it!

Why did you choose The Hideaway?

We chose The Hideaway for the location, as it was nice and close to home, and everything was in one spot (ceremony, reception, accommodation)! The venue is so beautiful, and it was everything we were looking for!

Describe your theme for the day

We didn’t really have a theme for our day. It purely was everything we liked all put together. We both love vintage style, so we did try to incorporate that into our theme with our attire and our wedding cars. The venue definitely pulled the styling off though! We absolutely loved it!

Taryn’s highlight of the day

The whole day was my highlight! Putting on my dress, and waiting to see Trent at the end of aisle was definitely an exciting feeling. Also, just having our friends and family there to help us celebrate was amazing in itself. It was the best day!

Trent’s highlight of the day

The highlight of the day for me was definitely seeing my beautiful bride walking towards me through our dearest friends and family. Also the relaxed atmosphere of the venue making it easy to move around and see everyone after the ceremony.

Tips or words of wisdom for future brides/grooms-to-be

Relax and enjoy the day, because it honestly does go so quickly! Try to take at least 10 minutes out of the night so you can both reflect on the day.
